Returning Officers receive and decide on nomination papers under the election regulations, subject to available legal challenge.

Common questions
When is the election deposit forfeited?
Under the conduct regulations, it is forfeited when the candidate does not poll more than one-eighth of the total votes polled.
Does SPR approval mean a candidate has a clean record?
No. Acceptance means the nomination met applicable procedural requirements at that stage.
